Moscow's secret city in the forest

Having friends in Russia that barely get by on a next to nothing salary, I found this story from the BBC very interesting. Attempting to send money to them is risky because most of the mail is opened by "officials". However, my Mom has become a master in hiding money so that it gets to them.

Some years back, we paid for one of our Russian friends to come to the US for a visit. It was eye opening for all of us. Some of the poorest people in the US have more than many Russian families. To buy simple things (to us) cost a whole month's salary there. Very sad. My Mom has made 2 trips there to visit in smaller villages (in southern Russia and Uzbekistan) and she said that it was like going back in time and visiting the US in the 1930's.

Let us not forget how lucky we are and how God has blessed us.
