Cooking 101

So to prepare me for my upcoming trip to Jordan, Julianna offered to show me how to cook things that Jordanians might like to eat. My culinary expertise is mac and cheese and spagetti (both of which I can make from scratch). But I do not cook alot so I needed a quick refresher course.

So does anyone really care?




Probably not, but here a few photos anyone.

Spagetti sauce:



Lentil soup, it looks a little weird, but it actually tastes good.



Now for the more exotic.....

Mushroom cups, the mushroom cups are made from phyllo dough (which is the thin crispy stuff
in baklava




You bake the cups:



then you put these really disgusting mushrooms in the cups



Then you put a little cheese on top and bake again:

So great to see Juliana in there! I find that beef/lamb kofta is pretty much a no-brainer if you want the recipe.
