Today is Muslim Holy Day so not much goes on in the morning. We took a bus ride to the Islamic Castle (Ajlun). It was really cool. On top of a hill where they can see 360 degrees around.

You can see the Golan Heights, the Jordan Valley and the area where Elijah was born and taken to heaven according to the guide. The Jordan Valley is really pretty. There used to be a Crusader castle on the other side. The Muslims had "spy glasses" that the Europeans did not have and could see all the activity going on. When the crusaders left the castle, they could see and would send pigeon messages to those threatened.

We then went to the ancient city of Jerash (Gerasa). They have a cool theater. If you stand in one spot in the middle of the stage and talk, you feel your chest vibrate and you can be heard all over the stands talking in a normal voice. It was weird.

They have lots and lots of columns. Most of it was destroyed in an earthquake. However, the Temple of Artemis is still partially standing. The columns were built to sway. You can actually put a stick (or your finger) under the edge of the columns when the wind blows and feel it moving. It was so hot even with the wind blowing.

Just looked at CNN, what's up at the Capital?
Safeway is the only place to buy diet coke and then only in small bottles. These are Pepsi or regular Coke people. Safeway is a long long walk. I brought my backpack so I can carry them back. It is uphill on the way back.
Mom told me about somebody losing a bunch of veterans files. Have you guys heard anything about this at work?
