Biblioburro

I like saying that word. Biblioburro. Biblioburro. It has kind of a nice sound.

Burro's Alfa and Beto carry books to the most rural places in Columbia. There owner, Spanish teacher Luis Soriano, uses this mobile book mobile to carry books to help stop illiteracy among the children of Columbia.

Soriana says "I saw two unemployed donkeys at home and had the idea [to use] them in my biblioburro project because they can carry a heavy load"

Wow!

Panda news:

Mei Lan and Tai Shan are settling into their new Chinese home. ZooAtlanta has set up a webpage to update Mei Lan's transition. She had a bit of anxiety at first, so her American trainer stayed an extra week in China to help her out. But now she seems to be adjusting to the new people and the different types of bamboo that she is given. Good girl!

Tai Shan is also doing well. According to the National Zoo website (with some photos of Tai in China):

"It snowed in Bifengxia during the first week of the Chinese New Year celebration, creating a white playground for Tai. As was his habit at the National Zoo, Tai Shan went right outside to play and enjoy the beauty of his forested wonderland"
